Minutes for the School Council Meeting
On Tue. Oct. 20th.


Peter Ingram welcomed the new members and led the opening prayer
In attendance were: Peter Ingram, Viviana Keir, Val Findley, Patti Weir, Jim Mombourquette, Sandy Halloran, Cathy Kelly. Regrets: Ann and Tim Croucher, Laura Paylor and Angela Vagg.


New Business

Council Presentations will be in the months of Nov, Feb and April. No December meeting. Nov. Presentation will be from the Guidance Department. Discussing Terra, SHSM/ Co-op etc.

Staff Breakfast. Friday Dec. 4 th (next semester May 7th)
Arrive 7 am, teachers arrive 7:45, 8:30 bell rings, 9 am clean up done. We will correspond by email on who is bringing what.

Parent Teacher interviews
Nov 19 th 3:30 to 4:30 and 6:30 to 8:30
Volunteers to man the School Council table to get emails can check their schedules and sign up closer to the date.
Jim goes to the Grade 9 classes and asks for the family emails.
Cathy Kelly can do the 3:30 to 4:30|

Peter will check to see if we can get emails from the registration.
Get the Athletic council to sell spirit wear in the Phat hall on the night of the interviews.

Principal’s Report – Spiritual Development Day – Mon. Sept. 28th
a.m. – at school – staff activities
p.m. - River Run – Mass, guest speaker – Mark McGowan –“The History of Catholic Education in Ontario.
- Staff Meeting Mon. Oct. 5th Director Don Drone visited.
- Italy/Greece trip Wed. Oct. 7- 17th went well with 44 students and 5 teacher chaperones.
- Bishop’s dinner Oct. 8th, at I.C.C. St. James was well represented with 22 attending including Viviana and Angela.

Committees


Web site- Jim and his co-op students manage it. He will add the minutes, advertise the St. Patrick’s Craft sale on Nov. 28th from 9-4 pm in St. Patrick’s gym and put the Greece/Italy trips on the website, advertise the Spirit wear being sold on the night of the Interviews as a great idea for Christmas gifts. Ross high school info night Careers and resource fair, Wed, November 25th from 6 – 8 pm. Dr. Jean Clinton is speaking on the different brains of girls and boys.

Schools and Parishes – Peter and Jim take care of this by submitting photos to our feeder schools and advertising school events in the church bulletins.

Newsletter – Viviana will email the draft so far.

Some suggested items: Detail of the stops for the late bus. International trips, Peter Pan play, How best to contact the teachers?, Ross Info night.
